From the Field to the Pulpit
A Division I recruit out of Crossett, Arkansas, Ronald played running back for the Arkansas Razorbacks under Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz, helping the team reach bowl games including the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl, before a career-ending injury redirected his path. That same year, he won the Arkansas state decathlon.
He went on to earn a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and has spent over three decades as a pastor, evangelist, and community activist. He currently pastors Johnson Memorial Church while leading Ronald Matheney Ministries — a platform for speaking, coaching, and teaching people how to live a Spirit-filled life beyond Sunday morning — because a life truly led by the Spirit produces real, visible results in how we walk out our purpose and our faith.
